INTEGRATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES - SUPPORT FOR NEW SCENARIOS
As a member of the SAP Basis specialist team, your responsibilities will include the design, operation, administration, support and installation of an extensive SAP system landscape with over 50 systems for 17 universities and 2 institutions in Lower Saxony. Furthermore, you will monitor the SAP system landscape as well as its interfaces to external systems and carry out measures within the scope of software lifecycle management (e.g. note maintenance, support stacks, release upgrades) and change management (e.g. hardware migration, transport system and documentation). As part of the SAP Basis team, you will be the contact person for organizational and technical questions of the universities and in 3rd-level support for user inquiries.
Automation of processes In an IDM, IT business processes, creating, modifying and deleting a user are defined centrally by means of a unique set of rules. All the necessary steps are then completed using automated workflows. User administration no longer has to be administered separately for each system, but only in a single point of administration. Data Consistency Employee data is created only once in a leading system in an IDM architecture. All attached systems use this data in their user management on demand. In a change of department or a new activity, permissions are automatically adjusted. Security and Documentation In a centralised user administration, users can be locked down efficiently on all systems or access rights can be changed. The connection to the personnel process automatically initiates the change process as soon as the master record is adjusted in the Human Resources Department. Documentation solutions can also be used to archive all processes without any gaps. This creates transparency which also facilitates the detection of a functioning and secure authorisation concept during audit tests. Permanent tuning and performance monitoring in the aforementioned areas
In order to reduce the complexity of the SAP basis operation and to accelerate and simplify the tasks of the SAPBasis and to create free capacities, standardisation and automation of the existing activities is required. Details can be found in chapters 7.7 and 9.5 of the Master's thesis.
