Changes to SAP user data should be uncomplicated and fast. Users can make requests for SAP systems themselves. In exceptional and emergency situations, SAP users should be assigned extended authorizations quickly and for a limited period of time. Simplified assignment and control of exception authorizations in SAP systems is required. You can freely and flexibly determine the duration of these authorization assignments. Decisions can be controlled and monitored across systems. Whether it's recertification of SAP users, vacation requests or birthday wishes: all these things can now be processed and managed centrally in one place.
To do this, first define what information should be checked. In the SU20 transaction, verify that the required fields may already exist as permission fields. If you want to check custom fields, you must create your own permission fields in the transaction SU20. Please pay particular attention to the (F4) help provided. When defining customised permission fields, you assign a name in the Field Name field that is in your Customer Name Room and assign the corresponding data element and, if desired, a table name for a value help. The next step is to create your own authorization object and assign your permission fields and, if necessary, default permission fields. If you use the ACTVT field to validate the activity, you must use the Activities allowed button to select the activities that you want to validate from the source code of your programme. Maintain transaction start permissions on call CALL TRANSACTION
The SAP authorization concept must generally be created in two versions: for the ABAP stack and for the Java stack. Which roles are required, which role may call which SAP functions, and other conceptual issues are identical. However, there are fundamental differences between the two versions.

It is also possible to use Excel-based data - as in the case of the outlined application case with eCATT - because it is a one-time action for the roles considered and SAP standard programmes are used in the background.
