Authorization tools in the SAP GRC Suite ensure that every company can design a highly automated compliance management system that fits exactly. The majority of German companies with an SAP system do not yet use authorization tools. However, the use of SAP authorization tools is a great advantage for many companies. The extent to which the use of authorization tools makes sense depends on the size of a company.
The customising parameters in the table PRGN_CUST control the password generator in the transactions SU01 and SU10. The values of the profile parameters override the customising parameter entries to prevent invalid passwords from being generated. If the value of a customising parameter is less than the value of the corresponding profile parameter, the default value of the customising parameter is drawn instead. The same is true if no value is maintained. You can exclude certain words or special characters as passwords by entering them in the USR40 table. In this table you can enter both specific passwords (e.g. your company's name) and patterns for passwords (e.g. 1234*). '*' stands for any number of additional characters (wild card) and '?' for any character. However, when maintaining the USR40 table, note that the number and type of entries affect performance.
Default permissions already included
If there are no buttons for copying and pasting in the PFCG transaction, you can simply insert them. Only seven lines are displayed in the dialogue box to maintain field values to properties in transaction PFCG. Up to now it was not possible to insert more than these seven lines at once from the clipboard. However, this may often be necessary in the context of the maintenance of permissions, for example if you want to use entries from other roles. During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.
