SAP Authorization Trace - Simple Overview of Authorizations
Reset passwords using self service
Many tools that offer to simplify care operations of the transaction PFCG work Excel-based. The complete roll data is stored and processed in Excel. Then the Excel file is uploaded with a special programme and generates roles and role changes. While this all looks very comfortable (and probably is at first), it has its drawbacks in the long run.

As long as the corresponding tests in both the development and the quality system are not completed, the SAP_NEW profile will be assigned to the testers in addition to their previous roles. This ensures that the transactions can be traversed without errors of authorisation. Parallel enabled permissions (ST01 or STAUTHTRACE transactions) can be used to identify the required permissions and assign them to the user through the appropriate roles.
Limit character set for user ID
The authorisation trace is a client- and user-independent trace. The results of this trace are written in the USOB_AUTHVALTRC table and can also be viewed in the STUSOBTRACE transaction by clicking the Evaluate button. This trace data can be used by developers to maintain the permission proposal values in the transaction SU22 (see also Tip 40, "Using the permission trace to determine suggested values for custom developments").

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".
