What to do when the auditor comes - Part 2: Authorizations and parameters
Customise evaluation paths in SAP CRM for indirect role mapping
The security of an SAP system is not only dependent on securing the production system. The development systems should also be considered, since here it is possible to influence the productive system via changes to be transported in the development environment and in customizing or via inadequately configured interfaces. Depending on the conceptual granularity of responsibilities in the development and customizing environment, more detailed authorization checks may need to be performed.

Suggested values are maintained in the transaction SU24 and delivered through the transaction SU22. Read more about the differences between these two transactions. Maintaining suggestion values via the SU24 transaction is useful if you want to reflect your own requirements or if the values provided by SAP do not meet customer requirements (see Tip 37, "Making sense in maintaining suggestion values"). These proposed values form the basis for the role maintenance credentials in the PFCG transaction. As you know, the suggested values provided by SAP are in the transaction SU22, which are delivered during reinstallation or upgrades as well as in support packages or SAP hints. What is the difference between transactions and how are they used correctly?
Authorization concepts - advantages and architecture
The test for the assignment of the SAP_ALL profile is carried out in the SOS differently than in the EWA: If a user is found, assigned to SAP_ALL, and you have not entered it in the corresponding whitelist, it will still be hidden in the subsequent permission checks. Identified users will be output either through a complete list or through examples of specific users. In both cases, you can download the full list in the SAP Solution Manager's ST14 transaction. You can use the Check ID to map user lists to the permission checks. However, you should note that these lists do not contain the evaluations of the whitelists.

For the assignment of existing roles, regular authorization workflows require a certain minimum of turnaround time, and not every approver is available at every go-live. With "Shortcut for SAP systems" you have options to assign urgently needed authorizations anyway and to additionally secure your go-live.
