The system copy
With TM-TMS, an SAP add-on is offered that largely automates manual user interventions during a system copy and thus relieves the developers/customizing users. Cross-user developments are processed in one package, ensuring consistency. The entire process consists of three areas.

Fact: BDLS is a kind of "time eater" for system copies (except when using Hana). An important first step is to integrate the BDLS run into the system copy. Once the copy is effectively through, the BDLS is automatically started.
Hybrid: for example, the source systems on-premises and the target systems on cloud
In the case of BSC, sophisticated mechanisms make it possible to exclude configuration errors, since relevant parameter settings are made automatically and according to predefined rules. For example, it is automatically recognized whether the system is an Abap, Java or double-stack system.

Tools such as "Shortcut for SAP Systems" supplement missing functions in the area of SAP system copy.


"If we had wanted to do this with SAP board resources, we would not have been able to pay for it as a medium-sized company," Rudi Scharf knows.
